Indoor Greenery

I have a real love hate relationship with the current botanical trend, I love how amazing it looks and the feel it gives (especially against a dark wall) however I can’t even keep a cactus alive & feel a little bit of a fraud going all out with the trend when plants just don’t enjoy living at mine. Since Pantone named its colour of 2017 as Greenery my Instagram feed has been swamped with the colour and I’ve been really impressed with how many ways it can be added to a space even when you’re the least green fingered home owner in Yorkshire!

There are some amazing leafy wall coverings and colours available to create a feature wall or cover the full room if you’re brave enough!

How gorgeous is this hallway papered in Miami by Cole & Son. It’s in the home of Zoe the genius behind Muck n Brass, Zoe has an amazing eye for what works together well when upcycling to create amazing statement pieces of furniture & lighting, have a peek here.

The dark interiors trend is here to stay & I’m a huge fan of it. Give your dark space an edgy twist by going green. Mercer Green (pictured above) from Abigail Aherns paint collection is the best colour I’ve seen as it has such interesting depth to it.

If you don’t fancy going all out botanical on your walls yet then how about a statement piece of furniture to bring the greenery in. This stunning piece by Muck n Brass will create a cool vibe in any room. Greenery works brilliantly against monochrome, it makes botanicals feel more boho-glam, we’ve used green details in our monochrome bathroom for years and never tire of how it lifts the space. For the piece below Zoe used Geometric Palms paper, taking inspiration from Dolce & Gabanna SS16 palm prints.

Until I can find space for one of these Muck n Brass future classics or convince hubby to paint the living room dark green I’m making do with little additions, like this faux succulent from Abigail Aherns range of amazingly realistic fauxs.

How are you embracing 2017s trend for Greenery in your home?
