It always amazes me that as soon as the clocks change & we have lighter nights it immediately feels like Spring, like we’ve flicked a switch or something!? At home, we’ve been well and truly going for it with the spring cleaning, in the house and outside in the garden (I swear it’s actually the only time half of the stuff in the house gets cleaned properly). Below are some minimal effort interior updates for spring, they can all easily be achieved whilst you’re on with your spring clean.
First up is to restyle your rustic kitchen shelving, this is such a simple way to change the vibe of a room for the new season. Swap in lots of greenery and lighter crockery to create an instantly fresher look for spring.
Freshen up your dining area by repainting wooden chairs and benches in lovely pastel shades with an emphasis on greens (after all 2017 is all about the greenery). Adding some fresh coloured candles is a cheap & easy way to change the look of your accessories, I change them up every season (or just whenever I fancy a change).
In the bedroom the simplest yet most effective way to style for Spring is to change your bedding, go for lighter colours and fabrics, keep throws and cushions on for texture but swap them for thinner, lighter ones (as pictured above). SIDENOTE: How cool is the simple magazine pile/rustic wood shelf at the bottom of the bed? Completely going to steal this idea to utilise some of the magazine piles around our house!
Probably the easiest update of the list is Spring foliage. Blossom of choice in a rustic, vintage watering can is ALWAYS a winning accessory that screams spring, plus it can easily double up as an Easter tree by hanging a couple of decorations to the branches.
How do you update your home for Springtime?
