#nationalupcyclingweek

This week is National Upcycling Week here in the U.K and I couldn’t let it pass by without sharing some of my favourite upcycles from my home and some of the amazing events happening this week curated by Gumtree.

Gumtree have teamed up with upcyclers up and down the country to host upcycling workshops throughout this week to help share the skills of upcycling whether upholstery or pro furniture painting have a look at the full list here.

As regular readers know (and anyone else can probably guess) our home is full of upcycled elements. Some conventional painted furniture some a little more creative like our salvaged airplane trolley bar or the library ladder bookshelf that fills the full width of our living room wall. We’re constantly changing things around & repainting furniture, it can change the look of a room instantly and only costs a tin of paint (not even that if like me you seem to collect paint). Here’s a little slideshow of some of the upcycled features at Little Mill House.

Being honest, that slideshow could have continued all day as I love every upcycled element to our home, the history behind the pieces are what give a space the relaxed vibe I crave.

Want to get involved with #nationalupcyclingweek ? Gumtree are giving away a stay at Hotel Stadthalle in Austria, the hotel is full of creative upcycling throughout their rooms (they’re high on my list of Hotels to stay in for sure), just check out this gorgeous family room!
